Robotised turnkey factory

A Dutch construction company is building a robotised factory for large-scale production of ready-to-use houses and housing components. The first factory hall will be operational in January 2022 and will supply 30 homes per week. The goal is to have five production halls and an experience centre. According to Plegt-Vos, it is time to take a radically different look at the way in which construction is organised. By using ultramodern technology, the construction company aims to tackle the housing problem in the Netherlands by having robots produce components in advance that can be easily assembled at the construction side. Projects are becoming increasingly unaffordable due to complex chain management and sustainability requirements as well as a shortage of specialised workers.
